3/5/2010 Maverik Joins Forces with Coast-2-Coast (C2C) Lacrosse
Maverik Lacrosse announced it has joined forces with Coast-2-Coast Lacrosse Academy (C2C), Dallas' elite lacrosse academy. Maverik will supply C2C with equipment and its "Soldiers" will work alongside C2C's coaches to help players in the Dallas area take their game to the next level.
"We are really thrilled to have Maverik come on-board as our equipment partner and are even more excited about giving our players the opportunity to learn from some of the best players in the world," said Alex Poole, director of Coast-2-Coast and Head Lacrosse Coach at Southern Methodist University.
Coast-2-Coast Lacrosse Academy prides itself on its player-to-coach ratio and is dedicated to improving the basic fundamental skills of each player by providing them with consistent feedback necessary to take their game to the next level. C2C works with players to gain self-confidence and realize they can achieve their goals through hard work and dedication both on and off the field. Players/students benefit from the lacrosse knowledge of their instructors and learn life lessons that will build character.
"It is really amazing to see how fast our sport is growing across the country," said John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse. "Alex and his staffs dedication to helping kids and growing the sport of lacrosse is what attracted us to partner with C2C."

1/1/2010 Maverik Dallas gets a name change:
In 2009 we joined forces with Maverik Lacrosse, a new equipment manufacturer trying to build its brand nationwide, starting with non-mainstream lacrosse markets like Dallas. We certainly enjoy having an equipment provider as a partner. However, there were some people not so thrilled with our partnership...most notably, Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks. Believe it or not, the Mavericks were not happy we referred to ourselves as Maverik Dallas, a name very similar to theirs. The Mavericks contacted Maverik Lacrosse in New York, and presented them with a cease and desist notification. Long story short, we will now go by the name Coast-2-Coast Lacrosse, or C2C. We will continue our partnership with Maverik. They will be our equipment sponsor, and preferred manufacturer, so please be sure to explore the options they have when shopping for new gear...they produce fantastic products. We chose the name Coast-2-Coast after long deliberation and polling of parents, players, and staff. For those not familiar with the term, coast-to-coast refers to when a player takes the ball from one end of the field to the other. This term is used in other sports as well, especially basketball. Additionally, we hope that our academy concept catches on in other cities, hopefully from the east coast to the west coast, hence the play on words.
10/15/2009 C2C adds 2 new Coaches:
Please help us welcome Dave Leach and Matt O'Connell to the C2C coaching staff. Though the holes left in our staff by Bocklet and Carrozza will be tough to fill, these two coaches are more than capable! Dave Leach is from Baltimore and played at Notre Dame. He will be coaching alongside Coach Barnicle at ESD this spring. Matt O'Connell was an All-American at Division III National Champion Cortland. He is now the head coach and the University of Dallas, which will begin NCAA play in 2011. Their resumes are outstanding and we look forward to introducing them to you.
9/1/2009 Carroza and Bocklet move :
We were fortunate to have Matt Bocklet (Hopkins) and John Carrozza (Syracuse) on our staff. These two young men have since moved back to new York to begin their careers. John and Matt will be missed.
